Now I know why I don't miss it...

that's my old job that is... It's the whining and the complaining by customers that didn't bother to listen to me in the first place. Why do people ask you questions when they are not going to bother to listen to the answer. Do we live in a nation full of morons? Do we? I can't believe how some people actually live in that frame of mind. I have had my ass chewed out and served back to me several times today.
If you would have bothered to listen to one word I frickin said we would not be having this conversation right now!
People, it is the year 2008. We are not in the 1950-1970's anymore. Shit does not come free. Inflation has hit more than a handful of times since you were working and my goodness I am sure glad you know exactly what is wrong with your toilet so why are you calling me?
Ok.. enough ranting. I have a migraine and I am going to bed. Just to wake up and deal with this bullshit tomorrow. I am such a glutton for punishment!

Going back to work... one day only

My friend and ex co-worker called me today. Her niece passed away earlier this week(cause is unknown at this time) and she wanted to know if I could fill in for tomorrow. Of course I said yes and I will do it but I really am hesitant. I feel weird about it. No, I am not upset about them laying me off. It's just feels awkward. I can't really put it into words. I have a feeling that they may want to utilize me for fill ins. I don't want to have to do that.

Anyway... it will be nice to see everyone again.

It never fails...

someone always gets sick during the holidays. This year it happened to Katie.
We had a wonderful feast and all and she kept up with everyone else in over indulging but at about 5am Friday morning she came running into our room crying that her tummy hurt and lo and behold she threw up right in the middle of our room.
Although she had more than a mere tummy ache, she was raging with fever too. A dose of children's Motrin and some water with a new change of pajamas and she was back in dreamland.
Daddy got to stay home with her. Luckily for Daddy he wasn't scheduled to be at work yesterday. *Bastard*
The kids didn't have school yesterday anyway and If I did not go into work "on the busiest day of the year for plumbers" I would not have been paid for Thanksgiving. By the way.... it wasn't busy at all. DAMN!!!!
She has been feverish off and on all day today so hopefully she just has a 24 bug deal going on. I so hope no one else gets it because I am usually the last one and I normally get it 10 times worse than anyone else. I think I am going to stock up on Vitamin C and Cranberry juice now so I can prevent this thing getting to me.

I need some advice....

I have been promised a raise over a year ago that includes it to be retro to August 17th of 2006 but I have not received a raise nor have I been compensated the retro pay. What is the best way to approach my boss in reminding him of the promise? I do have a signed review which states the promise. I have thought about exchanging the retro pay for more vacation time which would help tremendously in getting my online store, Regalo Boutique, complete.

I just do not have the slightest clue on how to get what I am deserved. I know the company has suffered losses financially but during that extreme time period they have hired more plumbing technicians that make double of what I am paid and they recently have fired one. I am not asking for the world but only what I have been promised. Please guys I need your input.

Migraines and Diarrhea...

not a good combination to have. I stayed home from work today. The migraines I can deal with for the most part, even at work, but having the runs also...no... no can do sorry. So feeling like I am failing my family, I still did work on the computer adding more products to Regalo Boutique.

I also lurked in a few of my favorite blogs as well. Now it's time to go... literally.

Tired of moron employers..

Jeff was ill on Saturday and had to call off from work. He has never called off in the 11 months he has been there. So the assistant manager gets a wild hair up his ass and starts giving Jeff a hard time about not giving him the required 7 hours notice. First of all Jeff woke up at 9:30 with a raging fever and since his shift started at 4 he called as soon as he could. Stupid Jerks... just because they cannot hold onto to workers and they have a turn style business doesn't mean that all their employees screw them over.

Jeff has been begging for additional hours at work. He gets a measly 7 hours a week. The other days he babysits for the Gen. Mgr's son. Jeff told off the asst. manager (while sick mind you) and when he went into work yesterday, Jeff found out that he was given additional hours this week because a few people had quit. You may think well good for Jeff, but it won't last long because instead of splitting up the hours between the employees that are still there the dumb Gen Mgr will hire more people! Does that make any frickin sense people?

I am beginning to feel that Jeff is a babysitter first and then an employee of Auntie Anne's Pretzel Company. It's so frustrating!

Got my car running...

it wasn't the starter or alternator but the friggin' battery. $140.50 to diagnose the problem, put in a new battery, new battery and an oil change. Well at least it's running and I can go places. The only thing is... I don't go anywhere except for work and carpooling the kids around. Oh well at least I have my car. I did find out that my serpentine belt will need to be replaced in the next three months but right now that's all that needs to be done. The car only has 38,500 miles on it. Not bad for a 2001.
I didn't get a chance to ask my boss about the retroactive deal because he was on the phone for two hours this morning and then snuck out of his office. I swear he has stealth powers. The General Manager however told me that "right now was not the best time to do that kind of thing seeing as we are watching our budget more closely now that "season" is over". Bite my ass.... then why did we hire two new techs and a helper? Huh? Makes sense to me. NOT!!!! The company is worried about making budget and not being able to give the employees their raises but we can hire more people. Yep, that settles it I am officially a corporate mushroom. Keep me in the dark and feed me shit. Gotcha..
