Chris and I are looking for a new computer... possibly two. He really wants a laptop and I can go either way. I really want to know what you use and are you happy or do you have a preference? I can get a discount through my school on Dells but are they really all that?
Also... I need to really organize my life. I now know that I am NOT Wonder woman and can not do everything. Katie and Jeff have their chores and for the most part they do real well at keeping it up.
However I still feel incomplete as far as the house STAYING clean. I thought that maybe I should do a little bit everyday but I am finding myself so damn tired by the time I walk in the door. What do y'all do to organize and maintain a functioning household?
I still have to have time with my school work and of course some time set aside with my family. We still do the family dinner thing which for the most part is how we stay close. I do not want to give Jeff any additional chores because he works his butt off and maintains his grades at school. I want him to have a life outside of the home. Katie on the other hand is getting older and although she does set and clear the dinner dishes I was contemplating having her load the dishwasher also. Which means she would be rinsing the dishes as well. She is 8 years old. You think she would be ready to take that on?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

I totally think Katie is old enough to take on more chores. She can dust, load laundry, and load the dishwasher.
Start teaching them young I say!
As for the computers, Mrs. Fab and I both have Dell laptops and we have been very happy with them.
Kat - I had a cute discussion with Katie last night.. she WANTS to help out more and she also wants me to teach her how to cook:) That one I never thought of but I think I will enjoy a helper in the kitchen. Jeff already makes spaghetti dinners and Mac N Cheese.
Mr. Fab - You are now the fourth person to tell me that they are happy with their Dells..so I think that is what we are going to go with.
As a SAHM, I find my house was cleaner when I worked full time. Being at home, I've become the queen of procrastination! What I used to do is clean house on Thursday nights. Then on Friday, when I came home after work, the place was ship shape for the weekend and I could spend more time relaxing and getting things ready for the upcoming week.
And I'm all about giving the kids more chores!
roxrocks - Queen of procrastination? Really? If I stayed at home I would so totally have my house clean - both kids go to school full time. Shoot there wouldn't be even a dog hair on my floor. Now? pfft... dog hair rules in my house. I have made myself a chart to do certain things on designated days. I don't expect my house to be spit shine clean on any given day but I will have the satisfaction of getting something clean on different days. Chris has even started to pitch in. Hmm.. I wonder what he has up his sleeve?
I didn't do MORE when I worked, but I was more scheduled and consistant about the house work then versus now, where there is always "later" to get to it, so it never really happens. And you'd be amazed at the things "others" plan for you, since you have "all the time in the world". HA! And Cateyes is 8 and she unloads the dishwasher, and I too have contemplated having her load as well. Her chores consist of unloading the dishwasher, cleaning off the table, picking up baby toys, keeping her room clean, putting the washer in the dryer and starting it, and hanging her own clothes up (which is a fight, because the pants hangers are hard for her). What about the men helping more? .......ROFLMAO!!!
humincat - ROFLMAO is right!!! Although Jeff does do his chores. Chris on the other hand asks what he can do but then does something else totally not in the house cleaning area at all.. more like playing computer games;) Katie is now officially the kitchen helper. She sets and clears the table and rinses and loads the dishwasher. Cooking will wait a little bit longer.
