Friendship
I have never been the type of person that made lots of friends. Don't get me wrong I have friends but very few. I do have a lot of acquaintances. I have issues with trust. Chris could tell you tons of stories regarding my trust issues..hell he could probably write a best seller on that.
Since I have started surfing the net and stumbling onto different blog sites I have developed an addiction to it. It inspired me to start my own site. Mainly to keep family that live 1200 miles away up to date with what's going on in my life and to come out of my introvert shell a little bit.
The first blog I found and quite literally by mistake was www.mysinglemomlife.com. This site belongs to my friend Kat. I read her site for about 6 months before I left a comment to any of her posts. She lives in the same city as I do, she is a single mom, which I myself was a single mom for a good seven years before I met Chris . She is a smart, caring, kind and down to earth woman but for some odd reason she doubts herself. Although to be completely honest I have doubted myself for years.
We are similar in many ways. I have met her only twice for very brief times. First was to drop off her Girl Scout Cookie order and the second was to bring her something I thought she could use. She has helped me greatly by advertising my business on her site and posting a very heartwarming blog about my business. We email back and forth from time to time. Kat has been ill lately and keeping up with what she does has been hard for her. I was truly worried for her when I noticed that she was not posting as often as she normally does. Sometimes it was days before I would see a new post. I hope she finds out soon what is causing her illness and gets the correct treatment. She has been through enough shit already. She is a Scoliosis survivor. She had to have two surgeries to straighten her back. She had to have two steel rods and tons of pins put in her back to have it corrected. She is still having to take pain meds for the crap she had to go through and also will have to start going to physical therapy. In my opinion she is one strong woman.
She is a wiz at posting for PAY PER POST and I enjoy the way she incorporates her experience to the ones she picks out. She is extremely talented in many ways and I admire her personality and the way she states her opinions and doesn't give a rat's ass whether you agree with her or not.
Go check out her site and find out for yourself what a wonderful, straight forward brass personality, and truly amazing person she really is.

Reese and Bentley
At 6:45 our babies arrived. OMG they are beyond words. Marci and her husband did not stay long because they had other deliveries to make but she asked us to call her in the morning to give her an update on Bentley and Reese. We were supposed to go get them at their friends house but due to traffic on I-75 it was easier for them to bring them to us.
Not long after they left we went directly to PetSmart for all the necessities. There was no sense in getting them until we had the puppies.
Just about everyone there stopped to see the puppies. They were so well behaved. Reese nestled in my arms and Bentley stayed close to daddy's chest the whole time were there. Our bill was slightly costly because they are on Science Diet and that shit ain't cheap. We got food bowls, a self filling water bowl, toilet training pads, harnesses, tags(with their names on them), air tight containers to hold their food and Scooters, a couple of toys.
We also had to get Scooter something otherwise she would get this attitude like we don't love her anymore. Every time we bring another animal home we have to slowly introduce them or she gets a tude. She is a smart dog but definitely a woman haha.... I will be posting pictures of my brood as we take them. Chris brought his digital camera home from work so we could take a ton of them( gotta send some to the family up north).
I am spending time with Scooter for a little while before going to bed or she will be mad at me in the morning. And then it will be off to bed with the babies nestled beside me on their pillow or maybe Chris already has them in bed with him:) Yep... I bet he does:)

Friday is the day!!!!
Bentley is the little black one with the white patch on his chest and one paw. Reese is the beautiful brindle/white. We will be able to pick them up on Friday from Marci and family at their friends (Joyce and Mark's) house. They are so precious. We will definitely have to get Reese spayed but as for Bentley, Chris would like to stud him out. I think it's because he doesn't want Bentley to have to go through the pain of having his nuts taken out.... haha :O)
Marci has a few more puppies left for sale. So if anyone is in the market for one of these adorable babies check out her website www.shihtzusrule.com. Remember me talking about Lilly? Well they have officially named her Pebbles. All of Marci's babies have names that start with P. She will now have 6 females and Petie(her stud that lives with her ex) makes seven. I will definitely post more in the next couple of days when we get the puppies. There will be pictures galore. I am just warning ya now:)

What to do....
when the only time I have to post on my site is during work? I mean I am at work now and everyone around here is surfing the damn web. I might as well take advantage of that too:) This past weekend has been a busy one.
Katie's Girl Scout cookie booths are finally over. Geez... I was beginning to dream about the damn cookies:) but at least the girls reached their goal and will have more than enough to sponsor their next year camping trips and so on.
Jeff is still working hard at the same job although he is looking for a better one. It's hard finding an employer that understands that school is priority and the job is second.
Chris has been working on our business website. Tweaking things and feverishly trying to find a cheap shipping rate for our neighbors in Canada. Never thought we would have that problem. Our distributor does not ship to outside the United States. So we would have to have the merchandise shipped to us and then reship it most likely by USPS. It would just take a week or two longer for our customers in Canada to receive their goods. You learn something new every day.
Me? Well I have been contemplating in my head the order of which I need to take care of the things around my house that have been neglected for too long now. My head hurts already :) also we get our puppies this weekend and the house definitely needs puppy proofing. And of course we need to get their necessities before they arrive. So I am pretty sure we will be shopping for those things on Friday. Chris' family is coming over for St. Patricks Day dinner (corn beef and cabbage) I am personally not a big fan of that meal so a few of us will be having lasagna.

Is it March already?
Damn.... I can't believe March just crept around the corner like that. I was talking to a co-worker today and realized that soon enough it will be Christmas all over again. I really have to slow down and soak in every minute I can with my kids. Jeff will be graduating before I know it and pretty soon my little Katie will be a teenager (I am definitely not ready for that yet).. I know I have at least 6 years before Katie is a teenager but the way time is flying by it will get here quicker than I want to admit.
Chris has announced that during Spring Break (last week in March) that we are going to take a couple of days and spend time with the kids doing something. I am not sure what but I bet he has something in mind. With our jobs it is hard to coordinate time off when the kids are off from school and Chris can not take more than three days off at a time because he is the only one that does what he does (new construction inspector).
Technically I really shouldn't be taking time off right now myself but I have a cool work family and they understand my need to spend quality time with my family. Besides with the economy right now we are nowhere near the busy season as we were last year. We are getting inundated with a lot of calls with plumbers looking for work. One big name company in Sarasota just laid off half their plumbers and office staff.
I am hoping that our personal business does consistently well so in the future I can concentrate most of my time running it from home and not have to work outside of the home. I would really love to do more with my kids before they get too old to want to hang out with their mama. Well.... Jeff already looks at me like I am losing my marbles when I suggest we do things together. It wasn't that long ago that I would purposely set time aside to take him to the movies or miniature golfing. When did I become the embarrassing mom?
