I have spent more than 24 hours (not all together) studying the chapter and doing practice problems and all the extra problems just so I can wrap my tiny mind around the "basics" and after taking the quiz and the test I end up with 43.50 out of 50 possible. That's a "B" people. I know that a B is still good but it took all that damn work for just a B. Oy... this is just the first week! I guess it's a good thing I am not working because I probably would be failing this damn course right now!!!
ok... I am done venting... I need a drink! Maybe a couple... screw it, I am going for the bottle!

I have a hard time wrapping my brain around math, too. I was always a really good student, but had to spend three times the studying on math as I did with other subjects.
Karl: Algebra is not my strong point and yet I want to major in Accounting.... go figure:)
I hate algebra, too. When I was applying to culinary school back in the 90's, I had to take this standardized test, that had lotsa algebra in it. WTF I need this to be a cook, I don't know, but I was terrified. That I'd either be forced to take an algebra course at school, or, worse, not be admitted.
I guess I did okay, because when I was admitted, I could choose either algebra or Business Math. Guess which I chose? I wanted to concentrate on the culinary stuff, Business Math was an easy gut course for me. If I'd been forced to take algebra, I probably would have opted not to attend that school at all, that's how much I hate it.
Best of luck to you!
Algebra will eat away at your soul, my friend.
Christine: LMAO!!! Thanks for the support.
Fab: I have no soul left... sold it to get the damn B on my last Algebra test! So I guess I have nothing left to lose?
