All is quiet on the homefront.

It's just me and the kids this weekend. Chris left today for Washington. He won't be back until Monday. That means that the next three nights will be sleepless ones. I can never sleep when I know he isn't lying next to me. He's the same way. When I had to go to Ohio over a year ago and was gone for the weekend he had a hard time sleeping, even though he complains about having to remove my knee from his back every night. J I love the fact that he feels the same way I do.

The kids and I are going to see Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian tomorrow afternoon. I am proud that Jeff allowed Katie to pick the movie. He would have preferred to see Indiana Jones but he knows Katie would have a hard time sitting still for that one. We may go to the beach on Sunday but I have my seminars on Sunday so we will see. Not much else is going on, other than the kids are done for the year and now I have to find ways to entertain Katie. Jeff will be going to summer school starting on June 16th. He is taking a Life Management class and a physical fitness class just to get them out of the way. I can't believe he will be a Senior and Katie will be in second grade. By the time Katie learns how to drive, Jeff will already have graduated College. OY!!!

Katie is 8 in first grade? Wow! Cat will be going into 4th, and she wont be 9 for a few more months. And yeah, when one of mine is going into high school, the other one will be finishing up college. Almost 8 years apart has its up though, like pretty soon, she should be able to babysit right? How does that workout for you?

Technically Katie Should be going into 2nd grade. She was born in October so that puts her at the oldest in her class to begin with. This is because she was born after the cut off date for Florida which is September. She was held back in Kindergarten because of her hearing issues. With that she also has a learning disability that doesn't allow her to retain certain things like words and sounds that constonants and vowels make. She pretty much spells words like it sounds to her. Given that she had a hearing loss of 70% until the age of five she has to make up for those years relearning. Her biggest struggles are reading and spelling. However, her math skills are at a 4th grade level. She is a neat kid and tries so hard. It's just going to take some time and hopefully the light bulb will kick on and she will take off running. If that doesn't happen she still is a smart cookie... she drips with whit and sarcasm. She is her daddy's girl:)

lattegirl - I laugh because my 17yr old son acts like a child sometimes and my 8 yr old acts like she is 30! I can still remember my son at her age. It's not fair that time flys so stinking fast. I could be a grandmother in a few years! OMG!!!!

How horrible is it that I sleep better in a bed all by myself??

Oh - and "HI!"

Miss Britt: Hey there! Thanks for dropping by! Something told me you prefer to sleep alone:) But that's just sleep right?
