Slowly, but surely, getting things in order....

We had a very productive weekend. Got a lot done but still feel like there is a lot left to do. There is just not enough time in the day to do everything. Especially with the time change.

On Saturday, we went to Kat's house.

Chris and Jeff(while he wasn't watching Saturday morning cartoons) replaced the drywall from Kat's leaking A/C unit. Now that she has a new one it is working the way it should and no more leaks. I cleaned her kitchen and bathroom. I know she told me at least twice not to do her dishes but I really didn't mind doing it and besides with the dishes cleaned I was able to clean the sink.

We will need to go back this Saturday to finish with the drywall ( we had to wait for the drywall mud to dry). Chris will sand it and get it prepped for when Jo (Kat's sister) is ready to paint. While Chris does that I will clean again. I like to do it and I know Kat can't so it's a no brainer for me to help out.

Once we were finished, we grabbed lunch and went home. After lunch we tackled the trimming of the bushes and shrubs with the help of Chris' mom. We worked in the yard for two hours. We have a small white picket fence that starts at the walkway and runs along the side yard to the back yard. It's not a big area but it is enough for Bentley and Reese to run around in. There use to be and fence with a Jasmine vine type plant that interwined near the walkway to the front door. We took the whole thing out because it was just so overgrown( you couldn't reach the front door without this shrub attacking you). While we proceeded to chop down the shrub we noticed that the fence that was holding it up or vice versa was rotted. Chris called Tara (our landlady) and asked her if it was ok to take it out. She had no problem with it whatsoever. She is cool like that. So out came the fence and the shrub. We worked on several overgrown plants, trees and bushes until we were literally spent. We put everything in a pile for the next day. Chris' dad and mom would come over with their big chipper.

After we dropped Jeff off at work, we went grocery shopping. We came home put everything away and then went to Wal-Mart. Katie still had a gift card she wanted to use and I wanted to get a trash can. Katie got the movie that she has been wanting, Mary Poppins, and I came out with more than what I intended. That's always the way.

Sunday, after church, we finished with the yard and then set to work on my marketing items for Mindy's Green Solution.

Chris did a lot of work designing and putting together my brochure, post card, and business card. He has a knack for that stuff and patience

Tell me what you think:

I think the flyer/brochure/business cards look great. Do you have a lot of business? I live down in South FL and wanted to start up my own cleaning biz but not sure where to start. I used to clean office buildings but I worked for someone that owned a franchise.

Good luck with your business!

Leeanne - My company is still in the infant stage. I have four customers at the moment. If you would like I can email you more information regarding all the necessary requirements to owning your own cleaning business in Florida. Just let me know if you would like that.

Kat is so lucky to have you living so close to her, and I know she appreciates all you do for her. I would like to say Thank you for being such a wonderful person for her.
I like the advertising, I also like the list of cleaning that is available. I hope your business takes off for you, and everything falls into place for you. Good Luck!!
